Your Role 
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a Client Finance Officer to join us. The Client Finance Team administers the finances of vulnerable people who are receiving social care services and lack the mental capacity to deal with their own affairs.  In this role you will be making a positive impact on the lives of service users in Stockport.  The role requires regular days working from the main office.
 
Roles and responsibilities will include; 
 
• Managing a caseload of DWP Appointeeship and Court of Protection cases.
• Administration of the finances of vulnerable people who are receiving social care services and lack the mental capacity to deal with their own financial affairs. 
• Developing and maintaining financial plans to meet the needs of the client.
• Ensuring that the client’s finances are safeguarded, administered appropriately and in the clients’ best interest.
• Liaising with professionals, including the Office of the Public Guardian, Department of Work and Pensions and Adult Social Care to resolve queries and problems.

About You
 
The successful candidate will need effective organisational and interpersonal skills to be able to work well with other team members and services as required. Attention to detail is also essential as there are financial records and systems to maintain. In addition, previous experience of dealing with customers would be an advantage as the role involves contact with service users, social workers, or their support workers.
