Your Role 
 
This is an exciting opportunity to join our well-established business support team supporting the Children’s Safeguarding and Learning service. 
 
The role will be based on reception at Grand Central where you will act as the welcoming face for both public and professional visitors to our offices, so excellent customer and interpersonal skills are essential.  There is a requirement for you to be in the office full-time; 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).
 
You will be working with a team who have many years’ experience of this type of work and you will be well supported during your training.
 
Key Responsibilities include:
 
• Welcoming customers and/or colleagues to the office and signposting to relevant professionals where appropriate.
• Organising and arranging meeting rooms, including refreshments. 
• Telephone call handling and managing customer contact (internal and external) which will include signposting and directing callers.
• Managing email inboxes and calendars.
• Circulating minutes of meetings using electronic mailing systems such as hybrid mail and email.
• General administration including ordering, managing room bookings, monitoring email inboxes, building related administration, etc.
 
About You
 
You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service, with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. You will be able to prioritise your own workload. You will be able to empathise and be sensitive to the needs of the people using our services and ensure confidentiality at all times.
 
You should be proficient in working with standard office IT applications including MS Office and with training be able to navigate in-house case management systems to retrieve and record information.

The Children’s Safeguarding and Learning service are a busy team who primarily deal with child protection matters.  Our offices are where child protection conferences are held.
