Scale 5 (£26,421 - £28,770 pro rata) dependent on experience in the same role, with casual car users allowance
21 hours (3 days a week), includes a Wednesday staff meeting to 5pm. Part-Time and Term time only

Your Role 
 
Required for September 2024, an enthusiastic and committed person to become part of the Sensory Support Service. We require a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support the development, learning, educational progress, independence and inclusion of children and young people who have vision impairment. 
 
About You
 
The person appointed will work as part of a team within a peripatetic service providing support for children and young people aged 0-25 years. The person appointed will work as part of a supportive and friendly team under the guidance of the Head of Service/ Team leader and Qualified Specialist Teachers of Vision Impairment. The role is providing specialist support to children and young people with vision impairment in a range of educational settings across Stockport. The successful candidate will have effective skills, and ideally experience, in being able to support and working with children and young people with vision impairment both in and/or out of education. Excellent communication skills are essential, knowledge of Braille is desirable but not essential. Further professional development opportunities will be provided.
