Your Role 
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our School Admissions and Appeals service and we are looking for an experienced manager to join us. We are looking for someone expert knowledge in school admissions or education access to ensure effective delivery of all statutory and Council policy requirements relating to school admissions, admission appeals, and the placement of children with SEND. 
 
You will lead a work programme and team responsible for the normal round, in-year, and complex admissions to mainstream schools/ Academies. You will be responsible for the drafting and presentation of statements of case for admission appeals. You will also have oversight of admissions arrangements and a service lead for consultation requirements. 
 
You will also work alongside other placement managers in the service and will ensure children with SEND receive timely and suitable placements.
 
About You
 
We need an experienced manager, educated to degree level or similar who possess expert, technical knowledge of school admissions or similar in either a local authority or school setting. 
 
You will have experience of leading a similar service previously and will have recent, tangible examples of operational leadership of an admissions or appeals function. 
 
You will have project management experience and be confident using various tools to track and assure project success.
 
You will have a good understanding of the national policy landscape and the implications of that will have at a local level not only to the structural nature of the school estate but the impacts on relationships, inclusion, and attainment.
