EVENT CO-ORDINATOR

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Event Co-ordinator within Stockport Council’s Events and Registrars Team. This is a fixed term 12 month Maternity Cover position.

We are looking for a self-motivated, results driven individual who excels in customer service; with a passion for events.  You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the hospitality industry.

Based 4 days a week at Stockport Town Hall and 1 day a week at Bramall Hall (including evenings and weekends) you will work as part of a growing team overseeing a wide range of Events including but not limited to; conferences, weddings, corporate entertainment and private functions.

This role involves the selling and coordination of events in addition to the operational management of events, across a growing portfolio of Venues within the Stockport Area.

Duties include, but are not limited to;
• Responding to event enquiries.
• Converting initial enquiries into event bookings.
• Maximizing event sales (reactive and proactive sales)
• Managing repeat business from regular clients.
• Organising Events and liaising with suppliers.
• Operational Management of the Event on the day.
• Dealing with telephone enquiries and taking the appropriate follow up action necessary to convert the call to generate a ‘sale’.
• Progress Sales opportunities to ensure the continued success of the Events and Registrars team.
• Co-ordinate with the in house hospitality team and external caterers/suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the Event.
• Ensure that all billing is carried out efficiently and accurately
• Work on a PMS system
