Stockport Continuing Education Service provides courses for adults, families and communities across the borough of Stockport.  We are currently looking to strengthen our approach to supporting learners with additional needs and to provide effective information advice and guidance to all learners. 

Candidates need to have experience of working in a post 19 learning setting in a support role. An understanding of and empathy for people with additional needs is essential. You will also be qualified in providing additional support to learners and/or hold a qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance. 

The successful post holder will be responsible for managing a team of Additional Learning Support Workers and the Positive Progressions Team. Working with partner services and agencies they will establish new and build on existing positive relationships to support the next stage of the learner journey. Experience of managing a diverse team is essential.
 
Our most recent Ofsted inspection judged the service as good in all aspects of its work. This supports the future ambition of the Service to be outstanding.
