Oakgrove is a successful Special Primary school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.  It serves the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport.

Following the retirement of a long serving teacher we are looking to appoint a full time teacher from September 2019.

We are looking for an enthusiastic; motivated and committed teacher who genuinely enjoys the rewards and challenges of working with children. We require a teacher with expertise in creating exciting teaching and learning environments with excellent behaviour management strategies who will be flexible, patient and adaptable and willing to teach children across the primary range from early years to Y6.

The successful applicant will have experience of teaching in a mainstream or other specialist setting, have excellent classroom management skills and be able to support pupils who may present with challenging behaviours.  They will be creative with their approach, producing learning opportunities that motivate and enthuse our children.

Oakgrove School enjoys a close working relationship with the other special schools in the authority in addition to a local mainstream cluster.  This allows for excellent CPD opportunities for staff members.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers.  Special School experience is welcomed but not essential as is experience of Early Years.  Candidates should state particular curriculum strengths, with a specialism in Literacy being desirable but not essential.

The application forms and an information pack are available to download from here.  Completed forms should be returned to the school via e mail to schooladmin@oakgrove-primary.stockport.sch.uk
