Your role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the dynamic and specialised Information Governance Team at Stockport Council. This role provides excellent progression opportunities for the right candidate and involves completing a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. You will work within a friendly team environment and will focus on helping members of the public to access their personal information held by the Council. You will also assist with recording and responding to Freedom of Information Requests and giving advice to other Council officers, along with helping to develop, deliver and grow the Information Governance traded service operating within the local health, social care and education sectors. 

About you
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is willing to learn and develop a working knowledge of the relevant legislation. You will be a confident communicator and be able to communicate well via email or on the phone. 

About us
The Information Governance team is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the council’s statutory responsibilities under various information management laws and best practices. We work across all council services and council partners providing expert advice and guidance under the leadership of the council’s statutory Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Information Governance Team Manager.
