Cheadle Hulme High School is a hugely oversubscribed academy with a reputation locally, and further afield for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and determination to ensure that every child succeeds.

In the list of top secondary state schools, CHHS holds 25th position nationally for comprehensive schools. This is a fantastic achievement for students and staff and particularly for the Sixth Form, celebrating only its second set of A level results.

We were judged Outstanding in every single category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015. The 2016 results for CHHS put us in the top 5% of schools nationally (based on the 'Progress 8' performance measure), which is the highest rating in Stockport and shows CHHS outperforming many schools throughout the Greater Manchester region.

A training school for twelve years and a teaching school for a further four, CHHS is home to the Altius Alliance centre of excellence providing School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) for teachers of students aged 11-16.

CHHS is the founder academy of the Laurus Trust, a new multi-academy trust in the North-West of England.  The vision of the Trust is for everyone regardless of background or circumstance to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and work hard to achieve them. Our recent launch featured on national television and received extensive press coverage.

The Laurus Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
