An opportunity has arisen for a Coordinator to join the Council’s Support Funds Team.
Your role will be working with financially excluded people in Stockport to help them meet their needs during a financial crisis. You will be sourcing and coordinating support from local and national funds, charities and organisations to provide the assistance they need with daily living expenses, with setting up a new home or to remain in their existing home.
We are looking for self-motivated creative individuals, who can work flexibly within a small team, with previous customer service experience and excellent communication skills. Experience working with local and national voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations would be advantageous.

Clients will present with multiple and complex issues, which may be challenging, and you will need to be resilient by nature to meet the demands of the role

You will require excellent admin skills, with good attention to detail, to ensure that case records are maintained accurately, and to enable you to efficiently process applications from the public for Discretionary Housing Payments. Previous working knowledge of Civica would be an advantage but is not essential, as training is provided.
You will work normal office hours, although flexi working is possible, in line with the Council’s flexible working policy and subject to the needs of the business.
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
