Building Surveyor


Contract - Temporary (18 month contract), Full Time
Salary - MB4 £36,876 - £42,683

Join Stockport Council at this exciting time to become part of a new Estate and Asset Management Team.  We are looking for excellent team players and creative thinkers to drive the development of the new Design and Technical Services team.
The Council has a large visionary programme of capital developments across the borough, and is leading the way in public sector innovation in advanced construction models. 
You will lead on the development of all specifications relating to the Council’s ambitious refurbishment and alteration programme, as well as new build projects.  This covers a range of asset types including corporate operational buildings, commercial estate including leisure facilities and schools estate. 


Qualifications/Skills – 
• Must be RICS/CIOB Chartered Surveyor for a minimum of 3 years.
• Experience of CPD compliance.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Experience working on a variety of sectors.
• Competence in all contractual and technical aspects of projects.


The Role – 
• Delivery of new build and refurbishment projects inception to completion.
• Pre contract cost works and negotiations.
• Post contract.
• Supporting Senior Managers in day-to-day affairs.
• Mentoring and training junior Building Surveyors.


Desired – 
• You will have strong partnership skills and be able to develop strong networks in order to ensure timely project delivery.
• With experience of managing and motivating colleagues you will be a collaborative team player always striving to bring the best out of your team.
