(Enforcement- Neighbourhoods Team)

Salary S01, plus Essential / Casual Car user allowance (qualification subject to minimum business mileage criteria)


At Stockport Council, we are pro-active in ensuring that all in the borough enjoy a safe and healthy living and working environment. The Neighbourhoods Team is responsible for fulfilling this requirement for a wide range of public protection and safety issues including Statutory Nuisances, Anti-Social Behaviour, Fly Tipping, Waste accumulations, Fly Posting, Dog nuisance, Graffiti and Abandoned Vehicles.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual with previous enforcement experience and the ability to manage their own case load. You will be required to assess sometimes complex and sensitive situations to identify an appropriate course of action using legislative tools as appropriate. Proven experience in investigating Statutory Nuisance and other environmental crimes is essential.

 

Your days will be varied requiring highly developed problem solving and interpersonal skills. You will be committed to ensuring continuous improvement and value for money. You will use innovation to deliver a targeted approach, including both enforcement and promotional activities.

 

Enforcement activity will involve the investigation of incidents, gathering of evidence, deciding on the most appropriate course of action, producing letters and reports, and recording your actions. This will include the service of statutory notices, fixed penalties, conducting PACE interviews and if necessary, following actions through to prosecution. 

With experience in dealing with customers you will have a flexible approach whilst working under pressure. An effective team member, your highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills will enable you to liaise with a range of customers including Council Elected Members.
