Case Officer
Information Governance, Data Protection, Freedom of Information

About us

As an independent body serving the public, we uphold information rights for all. We do this by promoting openness in public bodies, as well as data privacy for individuals. As well as this, we oversee legislation that ensures people’s data is secure, accurate and robustly managed. We have a number of vacancies in all our operational departments, which are both full and part time roles.

The Customer Contact department manages the ICO national helpline and related case work, therefore to meet business demands we also offer working patterns of 10am - 2 pm within this department.

About the role

You’ll work in one of our operational areas which may include providing advice to the public and organisations, handling complaints and concerns, enforcement or audit activities. Wherever you join us, you’ll be responsible for taking cases to a clear and consistent outcome, in line with our policies and operational strategy.

About you

As well as a degree, equivalent qualification or relevant work experience, you’ll need to be a confident communicator who can deal with both customers and internal stakeholders. Your judgement, intellect and initiative will give you the ability to handle your casework autonomously and confidently.
You’ll need to be able to quickly develop knowledge of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures and how these apply to your role. And as legislation changes, you’ll further develop your expertise accordingly.

Closing Date: Sunday 1 September 2019 at 23:59.

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be invited to attend an assessment centre at our Wilmslow office. These are usually scheduled for a Saturday, the exact date is to be confirmed.
