Full time, Permanent

About us

Adoption Counts is a Regional Adoption agency, delivering adoption services in Cheshire East, Manchester, Salford, Stockport and Trafford local authorities.  The agency was one of 5 national demonstrator projects, and was the second agency to go “live” in July 2017. We continue to play a lead role in national developments and have strong links with the DFE. Covering a large geographical area, we function in a hub and spoke model.  Hub functions such as recruitment, marketing, performance management, panel management and finance are based in Wythenshawe. The area is then covered from three geographical spokes-the northern spoke being in Salford, central in Wythenshawe, and south based in Wythenshawe and Middlewich.

Adoption counts has a specialist adoption support service with a clearly defined management structure. We are one of only two RAAs in the country with performance Improvement funding to develop a Centre of Excellence for Adoption support. There are some very exciting developments in relation to delivering multi agency adoption support services.

Role

We are looking to recruit 2 Adoption Support Social Workers, to join our multi agency Adoption Support Team, delivering services to adopted adults , adopted children and adoptive families.

The posts will be based at Etrop Court, Wythenshawe but primarily cover the Cheshire East area of our RAA, with  candidates  prepared to travel to  other areas within the RAA as well

The Social Worker will have expert knowledge in the needs of adopted children and the additional resources required to be an adoptive parent.

They will be knowledgeable in supporting adopted adults to access their birth records and be sensitive to the issues raised during this process and will possess expert assessment skills to undertake adoption assessments of need.
