Senior Electoral Services Officer
Senior Officer Level 3 - £32,910 to £37,890 plus pension, flexible working and other benefits

Are you interested in joining a dynamic and digital first council which puts the people of Stockport at the heart of everything we do? Can you work in a fast-paced environment with Senior Officers and Elected Members who are ambitious for Stockport?

Following a recent service redesign we have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Senior Electoral Services Officer to directly support and work with the Service Manager, Electoral Services in the strategic direction, supervision and development of the team in continuing to provide successful, transparent and resilient elections to the borough’s electorate.

The successful candidate will have a high level, overarching view of how the elections process works and be able to demonstrate experience of such understanding.

Recent experience in the delivery of all aspects of electoral registration and all national and local elections and referendums (including Neighbourhood Planning Referendums) at a senior level is essential, as is a good working knowledge of Electoral Registration and Election Management systems, preferably Express.

With an agile, flexible approach to the role and a willingness to work additional hours in the evenings and weekends during the election period the successful candidate will hold the AEA Certificate in Electoral Administration, or be prepared to study for this.

Closing Date – Friday 3rd September 2021

Shortlisting of applicants will take place on 7th September 2021  with interviews taking place on 14th and 15th September 2021.  Interviews may take place remotely depending on the pandemic situation at the time.
