Data Analyst Apprenticeship - Level 4
Administration

Data Analyst Apprenticeship

Salary: National Minimum Wage for Age (£155.40 - £289.71 per week)

About us:

Stockport Together is a major transformation programme across the health and social care partners in Stockport.  The Stockport Together programme combines the skills of five organisations: NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (mental health services), Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust (Stepping Hill hospital and community health services) and Viaduct Care (a federation representing all Stockport GPs)

We are seeking two enthusiastic apprentice analysts to join Stockport Council’s busy Business Intelligence team, working primarily across the Stockport Together programme.

Your role:

Successful applicants will be required to collect, organise and analyse data to provide meaningful intelligence about the operation of Stockport Together’s operations. Day-to-day, you will be involved in managing, collecting, and cleansing data, as well as performing a wide range of analytical tasks to derive intelligence from that data.

You will work across a variety of projects, providing technical data solutions to a range of issues.  You will, with support from senior business intelligence staff, make recommendations to improve business performance, as well as implementing innovations to improve the way analysis is conducted across Stockport Together.

You will work daily with a range of analytical tools, such as database systems, spreadsheets, statistical analysis software and data visualisation tools.

You will work in an organised way, clearly documenting the outcome of conversations with key Stockport Together staff around their requirements, any feedback on work carried out and ideas for improvement.

About you:

Applicants should demonstrate strong numerical and language skills, supported by appropriate GCSE grades in both Maths and English.  Applicants should be self-motivated and eager to learn a wide range of analytical and presentation skills.

Upon completing the apprenticeship, postholders will be well placed, both in terms of qualification and experience, to apply for Data Analyst positions either here at Stockport Council or elsewhere.  While the specific skills learned will make the postholder attractive to employers across health and social care, these skills are highly transferable and would be applicable across a range of sectors including retail, industry and finance.

Applications Closing Date:            24th August 2018
