The children, staff and Governing Body at St Thomas’ CE Primary School, Heaton Chapel are looking for a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to support them on their creative learning journey. Collectively, we are seeking an inspirational individual with a passion for education and achievement. This role will include providing classroom support to a pupil and assisting the teacher with preparation of learning activities for this child in line with the National Curriculum.

The successful candidate will also be required to be involved in assessing and tracking the progression of the pupil and developing positive learning behaviours within the classroom.

The successful candidate will:

-     Have excellent written and spoken communication skills

-    Be able to demonstrate a consistently caring and supportive manner

-      Have the ability to inspire children and provide high quality learning experiences

-      Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a deep understanding of how children learn

-      Have high expectations of children’s attainment and behaviour

-      Have the ability to work positively and collaboratively with children, staff, parents and other stakeholders

-      Be able to work within and uphold our learning and caring Christian ethos
