Stockport’s Fostering Service seeks to deliver a highly professional service to both foster carers and children and young people who are in care.  The service consists of Supervising Social Workers, a Senior Practitioner, Recruitment and Assessment Social Workers, Fostering Outreach Support Workers and a Recruitment and Marketing Officer.  In addition, the service works closely with colleagues from a range of other services and agencies.

The service has a time-limited 12 month vacancy for one full time senior practitioner (with the potential for this to be extended).   
 
The role will focus on the recruitment and assessment of mainstream carers and assessment of connected persons but will also include other tasks related to the support and supervision of approved carers.

You will work closely with fostering team members,  foster carers, fieldwork colleagues and professionals from other agencies such as Healthy Young Minds, the police, health services etc.

Regular supervision, and training and development opportunities are provided for all staff.

You will have a Social Work qualification and be registered with the Health Care Professionals Council 

You will have social work experience and experience of working in the field of fostering.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
