Stockport’s Fostering Service seeks to deliver a highly professional service to both foster carers and children and young people. The service employs Supervising Social Workers, Recruitment and Assessment Social Workers, Fostering Outreach Support Workers and a Recruitment and Marketing Officer.  In addition, the service works closely with staff from a range of other services and agencies.
 
The main tasks including the support and supervision of foster carers, recruitment and assessment, the delivery of training, learning and development opportunities and the task of family finding There are also opportunities to become involved in other service developments.

You will work closely with foster carers, fieldwork colleagues and professionals from other agencies such as CAMHS, the police, health services etc.
 
Regular supervision and training and development opportunities are provided for all staff.
 
You will have a Social Work qualification and be registered with the Health Care Professionals Council.

You will have social work experience and will have some experience of working in the field of fostering.
 
The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
