Starting salary dependant upon expereince.

Scale S01 – point 29 to 34. (£25951 -£30,153 pro rata…£13.45- £15.63 per hour)

The governors are keen to employ a Pastoral Manager to work alongside the Senior Leadership team in helping drive this happy school forward.

The successful candidate would be responsible for managing all aspects of the child in need process, including working with families and outside agencies, as well as children and staff in school.

This role is not purely an administrative role; supporting children with barriers to learning will be an important part of the job, including nurturing activities and building resilience.

The successful candidate will need patience, humour and occasionally a mental strength and friendly determination, in dealing with some vulnerable pupils and families.

An ability to communicate effectively with numerous agencies and children is essential. As is keeping secure, accurate, confidential paperwork and producing concise written reports and action plans.

As a key member of the school staff, the successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the school’s life, attending the occasional after school event, running extra-curricular clubs, joining in with the parent’s association events etc.

The job is full time role with of 37 hours per week, term time only, with five additional days when pupils are not in school. These may be used for training or admin purposes.

The successful candidate will also need to work closely with the leadership team and the schools SENCO.

Pastoral manager duties include:  

  • Leading and managing all aspects of the child in need process.
  • To be the point of contact and liaison between families and agencies, such as social services or health.
  • To be friendly, helpful and welcoming to parents and others.
  • To provide a good role model for students, parents and staff
  • To develop a relationships with students, which are professional, firm, fair, caring and friendly.
  • Implement positive behavioural management strategies in line with the schools ethos and policies.
  • To work with children and implement interventions around the personal social and health curriculum.
  • Provide reports on pastoral issues such as attendance, child protection, wellbeing and safeguarding
