We are seeking a skilled Financial System Administrator, this is a wide-ranging role that supports the systems and technology that we currently use and are implementing as part of our digital programme. You will be looking after various financial systems and platforms including Ledger, E-procurement, Income Management and BACS system.
We are expecting you to be able to hit the ground running with your interest and aptitude for all things IT and generally exhibit the following qualities:
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to take initiative and ownership when required
• Experience of managing job queues and managing resource
• Ability to liaise with 3rd party supplies to solve technical and commercial queries
• Ability to design implement and support new projects, systems, procedures and procurement
• Understand how systems can support the operation of a financial systems team
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Experience of financial management software
• Technical experience of financial systems, GL, AP AR, Income Management and Procurement
Experience
You will have experience of supporting, developing and administrating financial systems covering several of the following areas:
• Income Management
• Procurement
• Financial Ledger/ERP
• BACS payments and Direct debits
• Interfaces and integration between separate financial systems
Ideally you will have knowledge of two or more of the following systems:
• Northgate (Now Civica) PARIS income management system or Civica Pay
• PECOS or similar E-Procurement solution
• SAP ECC 6.0 financial package:
FICO, SD, AP, AR
• Bottomline C-Series BAC payment system or similar
• Good MS Office skills, Word and Excel
The role:
• You will work in conjunction with our customers, implementing, customising and supporting financial systems to achieve the council’s business goals.
• You will support the Financial Systems admin team and user base with 1st to 3rd line systems support issues.
• You will work on a number of projects to update or swap the existing solutions
• While working in a small team you will be a self-starter capable of problem solving on your own initiative, making use of online information, training, forums blogs etc.
• You will support testing and quality assurance
• You will support audit and compliance to standards
• You will participate in the creation of functional and technical specifications
