Teaching Assistant L2/3

Full Time Teaching Assistant

Required from September 2018 (Linked to Pupil Premium funding)

27.5 hours per week, term time only – Salary pro-rata

TA Scale 2/3 (Salary to be determined by prior experience)

 

The Governors of Thorn Grove Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated teaching assistant to deliver appropriate support and high quality teaching and learning opportunities to our KS2 children. The successful candidate will be able to:

·         Form positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff

·         Work effectively as part of a team but be able to use their own initiative to improve outcomes for all pupils

·         Support children with Special Educational Needs

·         Demonstrate that they have high expectations for behaviour whilst promoting fair and inclusive practises

·         Show a commitment to their professional development

·         Undertake training to support children with medical or educational needs.

·         Deliver interventions

 

The post will involve:

·         Supporting in the delivery of high quality teaching and learning activities

·         Teaching small groups in class where necessary

·         Assisting the teacher in the management and preparation of resources

·         Adapting planning to meet the needs of the pupils

·         Supporting in the recording and collation of evidence for assessment purposes

·         Delivering interventions

 

Applicants should possess a high standard of spoken and written English, holding GCSE qualifications: grades A-C in English and Maths. Previous experience of working with primary children, running interventions or supporting children with Special Educational Needs would be desirable.
