We are seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer / Senior Transportation Officer in the Feasibility and Road Safety Team.
The post-holder will assist with the development of Highway schemes and the maintenance of road safety on the local Highway network. The role will include dealing with enquiries from MP’s, Councillors and the public, liaison with stakeholders both internal and external, conducting public consultation on TRO’s and road schemes and writing of Committee reports. The post holder will be responsible for making and amending Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), undertaking preliminary and feasibility design for road schemes both large and small and writing briefs for the detail design and implementation of those schemes. The opportunity exists to train, participate and become qualified in Road Safety Audit. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and experience of the development of TRO’s and / or minor Highway schemes and will supervise and support junior staff and consultants undertaking these activities. The role will include a high level of customer interaction and will require good communication skills. The role will involve working closely with Key Stakeholders to deliver projects in a commercial and customer focussed way which achieves programmes, meets performance targets, generates an income for Highways & Transportation and meets the Councils Corporate Objectives.
