Permanent Portage Early Education Worker
SALARY SCALE: NJC Scale 5 (£21,589 - £23,836) Pro rata to hours worked + Essential car allowance
QUALIFICATION: Relevant Level 3 or above
HOURS: 18.5 hours per week, full year
WORK BASE: Based within a locality in Stockport
Stockport’s Start Well Portage Service is an Educational, home visiting support service for Pre-school children with developmental differences / disabilities and their families. Using the Portage model and their knowledge of Early Child Development, the post holder will support parents / carers to stimulate and enhance their child’s development in all areas and plan for early Educational support needs in order to ensure that the child is able to reach their full potential.
The Start Well Portage service is looking to appoint a permanent, experienced Early Years Practitioner to work within a small dynamic and enthusiastic team.
Whilst knowledge of the Portage approach is desirable, knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities, and experience of working with families is essential.
Current full driving licence and use of own car is essential to the post. Alternative arrangements will be made for disabled applicants.
The ability to converse at ease with service users/customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post.
