Skills for Life Curriculum (English, ESOL, Maths)

Scale SO3 (£32,029 - £36,876) – pro rata 18.5 hours

Stockport Continuing Education Service provides post 19 learning across the borough of Stockport in partnership with a number of public and third sector services. The majority of learners are additional language speakers following a blended programme of learning that supports them to achieve functional skills up to level 2. 

The successful post holder will have experience of working in a post 19 setting, have achieved a high standard of curriculum design and development, evidenced in their effective management of staff and through the achievement of outstanding outcomes for learners. Ideally you will also have a Level 5 subject specialism in ESOL and Literacy. 

The post holder is required to bring creative and imaginative approaches to the development of a curriculum that achieves good outcomes for learners, and promotes community cohesion and economic wellbeing.  

Following an Ofsted inspection in 2018 the Service was judged to be good in all aspects of its work; this supports the future ambition of the Service to be outstanding.

The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
