If your answer is ‘yes’, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is the place for you. We have an exciting role for a Senior Officer (Active Neighbourhoods) to join our Transport Strategy Team to provide a central role in engaging with communities via our Active Neighbourhoods Programme.   
Projects are wide ranging with unique challenges and opportunities. You will work closely with senior officers, councillors, developers, residents, businesses and other key stakeholders to identify, develop and deliver a range of sustainable transport projects in neighbourhoods across the borough. 

We are looking for the following skills, and attributes: 

Experience in engaging with communities and working with diverse groups to achieve shared objectives 
Experience in contributing to the development of sustainable transport schemes, including cycling and walking
A creative approach to problem-solving 
An organised approach to work and meeting deadlines 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with varied audiences, including members of the public
A professional approach, and the aptitude to work on your own initiative 
Desire to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
