The Role
We are looking to recruit a part–time Fire Safety Advisor. The role will form part of a team of specialist safety and compliance professionals reporting to the Health, Safety and Emergency Planning Manager.
The purpose of the job is to provide advice and guidance on fire safety matters to the Council and Schools. The post holder will support and promote the development of a positive fire safety culture within the organisation by supporting the development and implementation of fire safety systems and policies, providing relevant training, performing audits and inspections, and working with the Council’s competent fire risk assessors.
You will be expected to report on fire safety matters to relevant personnel and committees, providing emergency attendance when required and supporting the continual improvement of fire safety arrangements and systems.
The Candidate
The candidate will have a common sense approach to managing fire safety and have the ability to engage at all levels with various stakeholders including managers, heads of service, head teachers and external organisations. You must be able to work as part of a team, and have the ability to use own initiative in order to deliver results and meet deadlines
The successful candidate will have a suitable fire safety qualification such as NEBOSH Fire and relevant experience of fire safety matters within a large organisation with a range of buildings, which includes, schools, large offices, civic complex, museums and listed buildings.
