Salary: MB4 - £36,153 – 41,846

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced analytics manager to join an organisation investing in the latest business intelligence and data analytics technology, such as Tableau, to drive improvement and change across the organisation through the provision of high quality insight.

Effective use and analysis of data is fundamental to helping us to achieve our ambition for the residents of Stockport. We need strong customer insight and robust intelligence that drives service design, improvement and transformation leading to positive outcomes for local people.

Role overview:

You will have an inquisitive, analytical mind with an interest to understand the story behind the data and be highly skilled in data extraction and interpretation. You’ll bring solid experience in turning data into actionable insight and translating complex analysis into plain English.

As an analytics manager you’ll develop and lead a small team focused on developing and delivering the data, business intelligence and data analytics requirements for children’s and adult social care across Stockport.

You’ll get involved in all aspects of business intelligence and data analysis development and delivery, from producing operational dashboards to strategic needs assessments that inform the commissioning of services.


Specifically, you’ll bring:

•        Experience of managing and developing data analytics teams

•        Experience of leading the development of insight products that drive improvement and transformational change

•        Technical skills with the ability to query large and complex databases

•        Experience of using reporting , business intelligence and data analytics software

•        Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into plain English

•        The ability to engage staff at all levels in the use and benefits of business intelligence and data analytics

•        An adaptable approach with an ability to pick things up quickly


We would particularly like to hear from candidates with experience with social care knowledge (children’s and/or adults).

The successful applicant will be employed on a contract that is generic across all Council Corporate and Support Services, providing significant career opportunities across a range of service areas.
