Teaching assistant/Midday Assistant/Playworker
School Support Staff

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant, initially to Key Stage 1, to support teaching and learning activities within a class and to deliver intervention programmes across the Key Stage. (Please see the job description and person specification for details)

 

The successful candidate will also be required to carry out midday duties and undertake supervision of children during the lunch break. The role includes supporting children with hygiene in preparation for their lunch, supervising children whilst they eat their lunch and helping younger children. A key part of the role is the ability to supervise the children in their play and being able to manage a class during wet play.

 

The role of Playworker is to provide general assistance to the manager so that all children in the morning club have a safe, stimulating environment for play and attend to the needs of each child.

 

Salary:  Teaching assistant – Scale 2 point 11-13 £15,807 (pro rata)

              Midday Assistant – Scale 1 point 11 £8.19 per hour

              Playworker – Morning Club – Scale 2 point 11-13 £8.19 - £8.55 per hour

 

Hours of post: Teaching assistant – 25 hours per week (term time only)

                         Midday assistant – 5 hours per week (term time only)

                         Playworker – 5 hours per week (term time only)
