Location: Thorn Grove Primary School
Hours: 24 hours per week (4 days)
Weeks: Term-time (38 weeks per year)
Grade: Scale 5 (SP12-SP17: £21589-£23836 pay award pending)
Salary: SP5-SP6 - £18056-£19171 pro-rata for term-time working @ 84.77% and part-time
Actual Salary: £11,870.48 - £13,105.97
Contract: Fixed term 1 year contract linked to funding

The Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding, proactive and highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful school in 2020. Thorn Grove is an innovative, forward thinking school and we looking for a dedicated practitioner will be able to support our pupils in their learning following the recent school closures. This role will involve supporting in the classroom, differentiated teaching, covering classes (including PPA) and leading interventions/catch-up. This role is for 1 year only in line with government funding.
This is a unique opportunity for either:-
• an ambitious and high-performing teaching assistant who is committed to pushing themselves further and achieving amazing things for the children
• a recently qualified teacher looking to gain school experience before embarking on their teaching career or for a qualified teacher looking for a part-time role without a whole class responsibility where they can enjoy working and supporting children as they strive to make up for lost learning

We are looking for a candidate who:
• Believes that all children deserve the best and sets high expectations to teaching, learning and behaviour
• Will compliment teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of students.
• Will work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
• Will supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers.
• Will provide support to students and teachers in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes and to encourage students to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and support the inclusion of students in all aspects of school life.
