24 hours a week: Monday to Friday 9 to 12pm & 1.30pm to 3:15pm (Friday 8:45am start) Scale 2
& 5 hours’ midday assistant (Monday – Friday: 12pm – 1pm) Scale 1 Start Date: As soon as possible
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspiring, committed teaching assistant to join our dynamic team.
The Trustees of the Kirkstead Education Trust at Hursthead Junior School wish to appoint a passionate teaching assistant with experience of working within Key Stage 2. We are proud of our commitment to the development of the whole child and we would like to recruit an individual who can enhance our existing team. The successful candidate will be required to support individuals and small groups both in the classroom and in delivering interventions across the school. This may include supporting individual pupils with complex special educational needs and challenging behaviour. All our teaching assistants build positive relationships with pupils by being members of our midday team.
We are seeking a strong team player to join our happy, hardworking and dedicated staff. This is a role for someone who has the ability to meet challenges with enthusiasm, determination and good humour and who has the commitment to support the ethos of our school.
The successful candidate will love working with children and have the skills and knowledge to support all children. You will demonstrate the ability to:
Use effective strategies to promote positive attitudes to learning and personal wellbeing Work well with other staff and outside agencies Help children to succeed and have high expectations Be resilient in the face of challenges Behave in a professional manner within a team environment Have a sound knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum including mathematics, grammar, spelling and punctuation Work within school policies and procedures to keep children safe
