About us:
Laurus Ryecroft is a secondary free schools opening in Tameside for 150 year 7 students, growing year on year to full capacity of 1050 students and 300 sixth form students. The school will replicate the outstanding provision offered by the Laurus Trust founding school Cheadle Hulme High School.
In the 2018 Progress 8 Headline measure CHHS came in the top 2% of schools nationally and also ranked as the 18th non-denominational comprehensive school nationwide in the annual Times Parent Power Survey (2017). Early indications suggest that this standing will be further replicated this year following another set of outstanding GSCE and A-level results. 66% of students achieved the gold standard of 9-5 in English and mathematics. In 2018 the progress of our disadvantaged students was Progress 8 0.5, the historical national figure for this cohort is -0.41 and for other students it is 0.11. Our disadvantaged students make more progress than their non-disadvantaged peers nationally.
A training school for fourteen years and a Teaching School for a further six, CHHS is home to the Altius Alliance centre of excellence providing School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) for teachers of students aged 11-16, judged Outstanding in 2017.
If you want to work in a highly ambitious and successful school, and have the passion and commitment to join us at an exciting time for learning and development as we expand and open new schools in the Trust, then we would like to hear from you.
